Graduates of the BBA (Honours) in Financial Management can pursue professional pathways towards becoming a Certified Equity Securities Advisor (CESA) or a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in Sri Lanka. Under the SEC examination exemption provisions, graduates are eligible for exemptions from Series 1 and 2 for the CESA pathway, and Series 1, 2 and 3 for the RIA pathway, subject to the applicable requirements.
To obtain the respective certification, candidates must complete the required examinations, industry training and Viva Voce examination. The CESA pathway requires Series 6 and 7 examinations and six months of industry training, while the RIA pathway requires Series 5, 6 and 7 examinations and one year of industry training.
